Carlsbad Caverns

We have had some beautiful sunsets while here at The Ranch.

We spent the day visiting another miracle of nature.  Just like the Grand Canyon, Carlsbad Caverns is beyond words and pictures can't do it justice.

They say that it takes one hour to walk through the cavern, we were in there for over three.

There are so many diverse formations in this vast cavern.

The colors were amazing and natural.  Only white light is used in the cavern.

This formation is known as the chandelier.

We got to the Caverns early so there weren't very many people in there while were enjoying it's beauty.  It is a place that should be experienced in quiet because it feels as though you are in a cathedral.  As we were leaving, people were pouring in and I'm sure it was going to be pretty noisy in there.  We try to visit places like this as early in the day as possible for that reason and many times, we've had the place almost to ourselves.

This was on our bucket list of places to visit and it certainly didn't disappoint.
We have a few more days here and then we head to Amarillo, Texas.
