Second Brewery Tour

The next brewery we visited was Sierra Nevada Brewery in Mills River, North Carolina This is their second location.  They started in Chico, California but needed to open the second site due to increased demand.  This is their front gate.

This old brewing kettle is sitting in the grass next to the driveway

This is the entrance to their facility.  The architecture is impressive.

The large tanks are full of beer waiting to be bottled.

Before our tour, we had lunch in their restaurant

With lunch, we each ordered a flight of beer.  Vickie picked her selections but I told the waitress to surprise me.  She didn't disappoint.

They were all good.  There were two wheat based beers and two IPA's

We both ordered bangers and mash.  The lunch portions were just the right size and the dishes were delicious.  The head chef used to be the head chef at the Biltmore.

This chandelier hangs in the entrance foyer

These are the tops of the tanks that produce the beer.  Each one has a separate function in the production process.

Here are all the beers the brewery produces.

We were told that this is a sculpture made by the lab workers.  It looks like a still to me.

These are the eight beers we sampled.  From left to right in increasingly higher alcohol content.

We had two great tours the past two days.  On Tuesday, we headed to Hiawassee, Georgia to meet up with fifteen other rigs for a week of fun.  More to come.
