Quartzsite # 3, Pot Luck and The Desert Bar

On Friday, we had a pot luck dinner.  Again, there was a ton of food.  It is virtually impossible to diet and RV at the same time.

The weather was perfect again and adult beverages were readily available.

Being that this is the tenth anniversary of this event, the original five that started the circling ten years ago were recognized.

A friend of one of our members came by with his drones and took videos of us.  .

Afterward, he talked to us about his hobby and showed us some videos that he filmed in National parks.

That night, we were treated to another beautiful sunset.

On Saturday, a large group of us headed to The Desert Bar.  These are a couple of shots of the last five miles of the trip.  It's a rough, dusty desert road.  Going any more that a couple of miles an hour will knock the fillings out of your teeth.

After about 30 minutes of a bouncing, bucking ride, the Desert bar came into sight.

These are some shots taken from the rock outcropping behind the bar and the bridge from the parking lot.

Many people come on ATV trails to get here.  These dune buggies are everywhere in the desert.  They are also street legal in Arizona.

The place is only open six months a year on Saturday and Sunday from noon to dusk.  You can get lost, trying to get out of there in the dark.

Some shots of the things scattered around the area.  The place is completely off the grid.  It's powered by solar and generator.  Notice the panels above the tractor.

The beer is cold and the food is delicious with a very nice sandwich selection on the menu.  They have a full bar, two areas to order food and live entertainment on two stages.

The place was packed with people arriving steadily all afternoon.  This place is a gold mine.

Some furniture made from horse shoes.

And a place to play horse shoes.

This was one of my birthday presents.

When we got back, a friend of mine, Randy, that I used to work with and his wife, Carol came by for a few days.

Vickie and Vicki enjoying the daily happy hour.

One person who has been following the blog and who shall remain nameless,
made note of the lack of a flagpole on our fifth wheel.

There !!
