Heading Home

We left our friends in Dearborn and headed south toward home.  We stopped for two days in Kentucky so we could see The Creation Museum and The Ark Encounter.

This is a full-scale replica of the Ark, 510 feet long, 85 feet wide and 51 feet high.  It took 3.1 million board feet of lumber to build it.

The detail and scope inside is impressive to someone who has been in construction all of his life.

This is Noah's family quarters.

There is much to read concerning the age of the earth presenting arguments for both evolution and creationism.

There are many artifacts from all religions like this Torah.

It was a rainy day so it was a good time to tour inside sites.  For a rainy weekday, the museum was more crowded than expected.

The first display that greets you when you enter the museum is The Burning Tree Mastodon.  This was discovered while a new water hazard was being dug on Burning Tree Golf Club in Newark, Ohio.

This says a lot.

There were many displays where photos were not permitted.
I was able to photograph some that were.

This is a replica of the Gutenberg printing press.  The first thing printed on the press  was The Bible.

The ride home was under cloudy skies.  These are pictures of Pilot Mountain near Mt' Airy, North Carolina.  It's lost in the clouds.

Once we got home, we were able to open the awning to let it dry out before it rained again.  We put the rig in the barn where we opened the slides and plugged her in.  Then it was time to take out the laundry, food, and toiletries, dump and flush the tanks and wash the bugs and road film off.     Some vacuuming and cleaning and she will be ready to head out for the next adventure.   We're starting to plan already.  Life is good.

  1. I am so glad y'all got home safe and sound. Praying for safety and protection from the incoming storm.
Thanks for the photos of the Ark Encounter. We will let your experience be ours since we have decided to pass on it this trip.
It was great fun spending so much time with you both!
