Bushplane Museum

On Saturday, we crossed into Canada and visited the Canadian Heritage Bushplane Museum.
They were celebrating the 21st annual Bushplane Days so there were many activities and demonstrations going on.

I love airplane museums and this one certainly did not disappoint.

A Bell helicopter as seen in "MASH"

There was quite a nice collection of RC planes on display.

I never liked posing in these things so Mark Allen did with Vickie

They all harassed me until I sat down but hid behind the wing.  Vicki Allen ran around and took the picture.

Beautifully restored gas pump.

We were treated to a water bombing demonstration.  These planes can scoop up 6000 pounds of water from the river in 12 seconds.

We walked across the street to visit the Ermatinger/Clerque Heritage Site.  These are two influential men who settled the area.  These are their homes.

We headed back to the USA

We had a view of the Canadian Locks and the St. MaryRapids.

We visited The Tower of History, a 210-foot tall tower overlooking Sault St. Marie.

We had a bird's eye view of  the city.  Below is a shot of The Valley Camp Museum.

We watched a barge heading for the locks.

Here is a view of the quarter mile long hydro-electric plant and the canal feeding water to it.

Early morning Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, the lights are beautiful on the water.
