2017 Northeast Adventure

We left on July 7th and headed to our stop overnight at Candy Hill Campground in Winchester, Virginia.  This is one of our regular stops when we head north.

We hooked up after we met friends for dinner so we could pull out early in the morning without disturbing our neighbors.  Our next stop for three nights is the driveway of our friends, Steve and Betty Senderovitz.

I missed a key part of the directions that Steve sent me and wound up going over this bridge in town.  As you can see, it's rather narrow.

I was only slightly overweight (by five tons) when we got to the beginning of the bridge but it was too late to change our minds.

While crossing, we passed a dually coming the other way.  We both had to fold in our mirrors so we could pass.

We parked in Steve and Betty's driveway for three nights.  The first full day that we were there, we went to the annual Lyons fundraising event.  They had a raffle with more prizes than I've ever seen.

Here are just some of the prizes that were raffled off.  There was also a new Ford truck.

Here is a view of their back yard from the back porch.

Murphy enjoyed the back yard view.

We took a drive through the Delaware Water Gap the next day.

It was a beautiful day for viewing the river.

This is a catawba tree.  The leaves are huge.

We stopped at Millbrook Village Historic Site and saw some of the buildings.  It was late in the day and they were closing up.  Here are some pictures of the inside of the church.

I thought this was interesting.

This lady was about to close up for the day but stayed to tell us about weaving.

Another couple came the day before we left for Mystic, Connecticut and stayed in the driveway overnight.

Here is a shot of all of us on our way to the next leg of our trip.

More to come.

A bridge like that would bring on a major hot flash! 😳
