Lake Havasu City, AZ

When we left Las Vegas, three of us headed to Lake Havasu.  That's us on he left, then John and then Dave and Betsy.

We are spending five days in Lake Havasu City for Winter Blast.  We are dry camping in the Rodeo Grounds parking lot with hundreds of other RV's of all types.

There are thirteen Montana's here with several friends in other rigs.
We're in a row with two motor homes and another Montana, all from North Carolina.

We visited London Bridge.  This put Lake Havasu on the map.  There is a map in the visitor center that you can put a pin in to indicate your home town.  They put the map up on January first and it already has thousands of pins in it and we were able to put New Bern, NC on their map.

This is Vickie with our friend, John

They disassembled the bridge block by block, moved it across the "pond" and reassembled the more than 10,200 blocks in their exact positions.  It's a very impressive structure and an impressive feat.  The bridge was put together on dry land and then the channel and cove were dug out and connected to the lake.

My daughter, Kristy and her husband, Dave came from San Clemente, California for the weekend.  Their daughter Seidy and her friend came with them.

Dave is mellowing out by the fountain.

Some more views of the bridge and lake from The Havalina Cantina.  Their Pomegranate Margarita is delicious.

Every afternoon, we had happy hour at 4:00.

More desert sunsets.

The last afternoon there, we celebrated Marti Gras.

Dave in his badger hat.  He breaks it out for special occasions.

What are you doing Carol??? Oh, she was putting money in his drawers!!
He looks a little too happy for it to be just money.

Dave poses like the well known "leather man" Paul Winer.

For four straight nights, we were treated to fireworks displays.  These are just a few of the hundreds of pictures that were taken.  It was hard to choose which ones to post.

They are difficult to shoot and sometimes, you get interesting results.

It's time to move on again.  We'll spend a little more time in Arizona as we head East.  More to come.
